Producing new aluminum requires enormous amounts of energy to extract it from minerals, resulting in high CO₂ emissions. By contrast, recycling aluminum requires only about 3% of that energy, making it a critical process. The higher recycled-material content of the PremiAL series helps reduce the amount of CO₂ emissions generated during product manufacturing by approximately 50-80%.

LIXIL has established a system that enables mass production of the PremiAL series at all of our aluminum extrusion manufacturing sites worldwide*¹ by managing and increasing the proportion of recycled aluminum used.
This has allowed us to make PremiAL the standard aluminum across LIXIL products.*²

LIXIL is an industry pioneer in developing aluminum recycling technology.
We were the first in Japan to succeed in large-scale production of 100% recycled-aluminum billets, which requires sophisticated technology.

Through R&D in partnership with external organizations and our own proprietary research, we have succeeded in achieving quality on par with products made from primary raw materials.

Aluminum is a highly workable material that is essential to many industries, with global production expected to increase by more than 1.5 times by 2050.
From an environmental perspective, aluminum recycling is valued for its ability to significantly reduce energy consumption during manufacturing. Yet the recycling rate for aluminum used in construction and vehicles remains around 10%,* as it requires highly specialized technology.
